Become a
member-director.
We are actively welcoming therapists to join with us as member-directors of Common Ground Therapy Worker Cooperative.
Own where you work. Have your say in how it runs.
Joining Common Ground Therapy means becoming an equal co-owner of the group practice. You will have a genuine democratic voice in decisions, a fair and transparent share of the practice's income, and the support of a collective of like-minded therapists.
Why join the co-op
Equal ownership
Every member-director holds an equal share of the co-op. No one owns more than anyone else. No external shareholders.
Democratic decisions
All major decisions are made collectively using Sociocracy — a consent-based system that ensures every voice is heard.
Fair economics
No one gets overcharged to rent a room. Profits stay in the community.
Community mission
Be part of something bigger — a social enterprise committed to making therapy accessible in south-east London.
Leadership without bosses
No one is pressured into unsustainable caseloads. We believe a group practice is more effective when leadership is shared by those doing the work.
Collectively shared marketing
When we all invest together, we can get more out of our investment in terms of increased visibility, prestige and reputation.
Your therapy work is yours
No one can take a cut from your therapy work. No one is profiting from your need for therapy referrals.
Mutual support
We have scope to collectively provide supervision to one another along with reflective practice and peer support.
We welcome therapists from all modalities.
Fully qualified and accredited by a recognised professional body (e.g. BACP, UKCP, BPS, ACP)
Committed to ongoing supervision and continuing professional development
Aligned with co-operative values: democracy, equality, equity, solidarity, and community
Based in or willing to work in south-east London
Committed to making therapy accessible and affordable to local communities

Other ways to support.
We welcome and greatly value support for our mission of offering therapy which is materially better than business as usual. If you’re unable to join us right now, you can still contribute to the project: we can update you on our progress via our mailing list.
As a therapist, you can also complete our survey so we can better serve your room-renting needs and help you become a future member with us.
Finally, if you would like to show solidarity with our project, please do share widely our details, posts and news with your friends, family, therapy contacts, trainees, groups, organisations or anyone who might be interested or supportive – thank you.
Tell us about yourself.
